It has been prolly a month since my 22nd. I celebrated my birthday in the beach; first time ever in an unknown Island. Well, it’s not really unknown, aside from the fact that the place is her dad’s hometown. But for a certified metro girl who got a new job and was assigned to an international factory situated along Southern Tagalog it definitely is. For someone who spent her 21 years of existence living in the urban, adapting to society’s culture and it’s people is, well not that easy. It’ll take time of course. It’s weird for someone like me to decide to spent my special day walking along the shores, drinking with a friend and blowing the candles just before the sun sets. Perfect, peaceful and very refreshing. It’s very unusual of me to do that. But hey I want to try something new.
I have been living in the province for 3 months and I must say; before, I didn’t imagine myself in a rural set up. No clubs, gimmick spots, booze, lots of malls, boys. Social suicide it is!. Haha.; Everything is the opposite of my life in Manila. I was surprised by how I adapt well in these kinds of changes. Drastic changes. I think one of the reasons why I’m successful is that this is what I really wanted and needed after the whirlwind of events of the past year and early of this year. I wanted to go on a different place, meet new people anything away from the old life and start a new one. Be careful what you wish for coz you just might get it. My wish was granted; A new work with a good pay, new environment very different from the metro and a new set of friends has been given to me in just a snap. And because of this, I am so thankful. An early birthday and Christmas gift. I just couldn’t ask for more.
The last quarter of 2010 has been a blessed and fruitful one for me. I know for sure that my dreams are starting to come true already. Slowly but surely. Before the sunset and as I blew my candles, I pray for a good health, a successful career, a stable and peaceful life ahead of me. And oh don’t forget the..uhh lovelife?. Haha.
